Photograph reproduction and use fees:

Processing Fee: $5 per image
Commercial & Editorial use Fee: $15 per image

Images are available as electronic image files (TIFF or JPEG).

Digital files may be emailed free of charge or put on a CD ($1.50 charge). Files on a CD may be picked up or mailed (a $2.50 mailing fee applies). Sales tax is included in the price.

When photographic images or video from the Grand Rapids History Center collections are used, we request the courtesy of a credit line as follows:

Notice concerning copyright restrictions

The Copyright Law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photographs and other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish reproductions. One of the specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be used "for any purpose other than private study, scholarship or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copyright order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violations of copyright law.
