Download the handouts below and follow along during each program.
Middle School – Mindfulness & Stress Reduction
Part 1 | This session introduces the foundations of mindfulness: learning to tune into and pay attention on purpose to our senses: taste, touch, sight, hearing, and smell. We learn that staying in the present moment, staying present with these physical sensations takes us out of the past and future which is where stress lives.
Part 2 | This session builds on the idea that we can learn to use our breath to form an anchor, or a place to focus our attention to help calm ourselves. Then we can begin to notice our thoughts and notice what kind of thinking we are doing. We can start noticing helpful thoughts vs unhelpful or harmful thinking. It is this very thinking that creates stories and messes in our lives!
High School – Mindfulness & Stress Reduction
This session introduces the foundations of mindfulness: learning to tune into and pay attention on purpose to our senses: taste, touch, sight, hearing, and smell. High School – Mindfulness & Self-Compassion
This is a powerful session in which we begin to learn that we can treat ourselves like we treat our best friends- with kindness and patience. This class helps us understand the challenges of high school and movies towards giving us skills and practices to help us take care of ourselves in a healthy way.
