Seniors Be Well at GRPL

A speaker series with accompanying low-impact exercise classes and book clubs for seniors

Join us for the Seniors Be Well at GRPL series! Family Medicine Physicians, sometimes partnering with a community service provider, will discuss health misinformation, nutrition, dementia and much more. When you sign up for the book club, you will receive the book to read, discuss, and keep for your personal library! The series will move online if necessary for public health and patron safety. Seniors Be Well at GRPL is a partnership with Mercy Health Saint Mary’s.

These materials were provided by a generous grant from the National Library of Medicine.

All talks will be available virtually and in Spanish translation.

Register online or at any GRPL location or by calling 616-988-5400.

This program is being funded by Region 6 of the Network of the National Library of Medicine, whose mission is to provide U.S. researchers, health professionals, public health workforce, educators, and the public with equal access to biomedical and health information resources and data.

Caregiver Expo

Sunday, April 24, 2022

Main Library – 111 Library St NE
1:00 – 5:00 pm
Registration Recommended.

Caregiving for seniors is some of the most important work you can ever do. It is also some of the most stressful, scary, and difficult work around. But no matter how hard that work might be, you are not alone. Help is available.

That’s why the Grand Rapids Public Library and Mercy Health St. Mary’s are holding a Caregiver Expo on Sunday, April 24. Come and connect with community services, advocates, and organizations in the Grand Rapids area that work with housing, legal, healthcare, and other issues of pressing importance to caregivers and seniors. These organizations help both seniors and caregivers live their best lives.

Whether you’re a senior, family member, or a caregiver yourself, come to the Caregiver Expo to learn how many hands can make this important work better for you and your family.

The Caregiver Expo will be the signature event of our series Seniors Be Well at GRPL, an event series funded by the National Library of Medicine.
