Are you looking to make a positive impact on your library and community? Considering running to be on the Grand Rapids Public Library Board of Commissioners!

This fall, 4 seats on the board are up for election—3 full term (6 years) and one partial term (4 years). To be elected to the board, you must be a resident of the City of Grand Rapids for at least six months and a registered voter.

To be on the ballot, you will need 40-100 valid signatures on petition forms. Petition packets are available from the City Clerk’s office. Petitions must be filed on or before 4:00 pm on April 23, 2019. If this deadline is not met, you can run as a write-in candidate.

The seven publicly elected Commissioners govern the library. Board meetings are held on the last Tuesday of each month at 4:00 pm and are open to the public.
