How the Pokagon Potawatomi Avoided Removal
Marcus Winchester, a citizen of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians, will discuss how his community avoided the Indian Removal Act of 1830. This is a story of tactfulness, relationship building, and ingenuity on behalf of the Potawatomi leaders of this time period. This program is co-sponsored by the Western Michigan Genealogical Society.
