What is my PIN?

*Your PIN (Personal Identification Number) may be the last four digits of your phone number unless you have changed it. If you cannot remember your PIN or it does not work, contact library staff for assistance.

I don't have a PIN. How can I create one? [top]

1) Click "Library Catalog."

2) Click "My Account."

3) Enter your library card barcode number.

4) Click "Submit."

5) Enter your library card barcode number again.

6) Type a PIN (your choice).

7) Type this PIN again.

8) Click "Submit" to complete the change.

How do I place a hold on an item? [top]

Items that are currently checked out or only available at other libraries can be placed on hold and picked up at any location.

Here's what you do:

1) If you've found the title that you want, click on the "Place Hold" button on the your computer screen.

2) Enter your library card barcode number, then press the "Tab" key.

3) Enter your PIN*.

4) Click on the down arrow of the "choose a pickup location" and select the location where you would like to pick up the item when it becomes available.

5) Click on "Submit" to send.

6) You will see confirmation of your title.

If you have any problems, or your personal information (address, name, etc.) is incorrect, contact library staff for assistance.

*If you do not know your PIN, contact library staff.

Is it possible to change my PIN? [top]

Yes it is! All you need to do is:

1) Click "Library Catalog."

2) Click "My Account."

3) Enter your library card barcode and your current PIN*.

4) Click "Submit."

5) Select "Modify your PIN."

6) In the first box, type your current PIN*.

7) In the remaining boxes, type your new PIN*.

8) Click "Submit" to complete the change.

Your PIN* is now changed - do not give your PIN* to anyone!

How can I view my account?[top]

From your library account you can view:

  • Holds
  • items checked out and their due dates
  • fines

1) Click "Library Catalog."

2) Click "my Account."

3) Type in your library card barcode number and PIN.

4) Click on "Display record for person named above."

How can I renew my library items? [top]

You can renew online, by telephone, or in the library. Most library items can be renewed once.

To Renew Online: [top]

1) Click "Library Catalog."

2) Click "My Account."

3) Enter your library card barcode and your PIN*.

4) Click on "Submit."

5) Click on "Items currently checked out."

6) A list of your checked out materials will appear. Mark the item(s) you want to renew by clicking the box preceding the title, in the column labeled "Renew."

7) Click on "Renew selected items."

If your renewal was successful, a message will appear in the status box telling you the new due date. If the item cannot be renewed, a message will appear next to the item telling you the reason.

To Renew by Phone:[top]

1) Have your library card available, plus the barcodes of the items you wish to renew.

2) Dial 453-2575.

3) Using Touch-tone, choose option number 1.

4) Enter your library card barcode as well as the barcode from each item you wish to renew.

5) Follow the spoken instructions.

Is there a way to limit my search? [top]

Yes! You can limit your search by:

  • date
  • material type (books, CD's, DVD's, etc...)
  • language
  • where the item is located
  • publisher

You will be able to limit your search either:

  • directly from a keyword search
     or
  • once into a search by clicking on either the "limit/sort" or "modify search" button that will appear near the top of your screen.

What is the Book Cart? [top]

The Book Cart is a useful tool to help you save your searches. When you click on the "Add to Cart" button next to your selection, the item is "saved" to a list. When you click on the Book Cart button near the top of the screen, you can then:

  • view/save the records to download, print, or email them to yourself
  • place holds on the saved items
  • clear saved records

When you are finished, please "Clear Book Cart."
