WashLaw: Legal Research on the Web -- A free service of the Washburn University School of Law. Lots of depth for state information.
American Bar Association's Public Resources -- Practical legal information geared for the consumer.
Nolo Press free legal articles and FAQs -- Nolo publishes legal self-help guides, and the articles in this site are geared toward the non-lawyer.

Legal Assistance Center -- Basic assistance, forms, self help materials and referrals to help solve legal problems. All income levels welcome. Charges only for forms and copies.
Legal Aid of Western Michigan -- Free legal counsel to those of low income and to those over 60. Government aid, consumer issues, child custody are a few concerns. No criminal cases.
