Illustration
Illustrations are drawings, paintings, photographs or various other forms of art used to depict and/or enhance either the written word or even a product. Common forms of illustrations appear in newspapers, magazines, books, and various other forms of written media.

Society of Illustrators
The Society of Illustrators was founded in 1901 and has a mission to promote the art of illustration. The society encourages the appreciation of illustration history by organizing and hosting illustration exhibitions, lectures, workshops, and has a yearly scholarship competition. The Society puts out a catalog each year featuring the best of the best when it comes to illustration.
