Thumbs Up award

Teens, are you sick of having adults tell you what they think is award-winning in teen literature?  Would you like to have your own say?  The Thumbs Up committee has narrowed down the field for you a bit.  A top 20 list for great books from 2009 has been developed and all you have to do is read one or all of the titles and follow the instructions to vote for YOUR favorite.  The book that gets the most teen votes is automatically a Thumbs Up honor book and if the committee agrees, then it will be the winner!

Some of my favorites include The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and Compound by S.A. Bodeeen.  But don’t take my word for it, check out one of the top 20 and read for yourself!

You have until May 30, 2009 to read and vote!  To submit your vote, you can print off and mail a paper ballot or e-mail pgoonis@livonia.lib.mi.us

I finished Hunger Games last week and now I am anxiously awaiting September 1st when Catching Fire, the second in the planned trilogy is slated for debut. I wish I could vote, alas I am just a kid at heart now.
