Singing!

Singing helps your child get ready to read! How’s that you ask?

Engaging your child in singing everyday is one of five early literacy practices that experts have identified will help your child get ready to read.

Songs are a natural and fun way to learn about language.  Singing develops great listening skills and helps your child learn new words and information.  Your child will remember things for a longer time too.

How can you beat that?!

So sing often with your child!  Stop in for a visit and we’ll be glad to show you some great age appropriate music CDs.  Or you can take a look at our catalog and place holds on your favorites!

Come join in our pre-reading classes where we always encourage music and early literacy.   We use egg shakers, bells, rhythm sticks, clapping, and just plain singing along to help your child get ready to read!
