CallUsis
a free service designed to answer
specific questions with brief answers,
or to lead you to resources available through the Grand Rapids Public
Library or the World Wide Web. Local history and genealogy questions
should be directed to the
Local
History Department.
Here are examples of the sort of questions
we can answer through CallUs:
- What is the medical dictionary definition
of osteoporosis?
- Who is the president of Steelcase?
- Does company XYZ manufacture ball bearings?
There are other questions that are simply
beyond the scope of what we are set up to do through CallUs. We can't
answer questions like these:
- I have little itchy red spots all
over my legs. What could be the cause of this?
- I need a list of all the officers
at Steelcase.
- I want a list of all the factories
in the midwest that manufacture ball bearings.
Detailed or complex questions must be handled
in person, with the help of a librarian in the library. For those who
are unable to visit the library or need information service beyond what
staff can offer the general public, the library provides a
fee
based reference service. Call our Reference Department at 988-5400
for more information.
