Funding Supports a Variety of Programs & Services
At its August 2008 meeting, the Grand Rapids Public Library Foundation Board of Trustees approved grants totaling $91,657.34 for the following Library programs and services:
Funding for Library programs:
- Hispanic Heritage programming 2009
- African American History programming for 2009
- Spilled Ink 2009 adult book reading program
- One County - One Book 2008 reading program for adults
- Chess Seminars for children ages 11-17
- Celebration of the Book 2008
- Baby Time story hours for toddlers and infants
- Earth Week programming

- Newspaper clippings collection indexing
- Business Decision software for the Small Business Resource Center
- Historic newspaper microfilming

- Local history materials

Conger Fund:
- Local history materials
- Great Lakes History Conference
- Grand Rapids newspaper microfilm and newspaper clipping collection index, part of the Library's archival collection
- Branch non-fiction videos and DVDs
- GRPL Goes Green reusable patron bags
