This Thursday evening we are kicking off the 2013/2014 Reading the Great Lakes series with The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson. Reading the Great Lakes is a book discussion group that meets the first Thursday of the month at 7pm in the Vander Veen Center on the 4th floor of the Main Library. The titles we have selected are focused on the Great Lakes Region, allowing for discussions that widen and challenge our understanding of our sense of place via history, characters, memoir, and science. Last year we read a range of books including The Art of Fielding by Chad Harbach, The Plan of Chicago by Carl Smith, and The Living Great Lakes by Jerry Dennis. So, join us for a book discussion and explore the Lakes!
