Started in 1990, the Grand Rapids Public Library Foundation has raised over $13 million dollars in support of the Grand Rapids Public Library. We are very fortunate that the the Foundation decided to fund a grant towards the purchase of non-fiction DVD’s for the branch libraries. The goal of this project is to update and revitalize the non-fiction video collections of the seven branch libraries. Essential videos on core subjects and entertaining non-fiction videos that patrons have asked for were purchased. The total amount of the grant was for $10,000.
The decision to fund such a grant demonstrates the Grand Rapids Public Library Foundation’s continued commitment to the Grand Rapids Public Library and it’s stated mission of “Connecting People to the Transforming Power of Knowledge.”
Here is a partial list of the purchases. More are on the way!
