Do You “Need a Read?”

We all know that feeling, “What do I read now?”. Maybe the trilogy is over. Maybe the new book in the series won’t be out for another year. Maybe the author has only one amazing book and you want to read more like it. Maybe you just know there have to be other amazing alternate history, weird westerns with dragons out there. You’ve asked the staff at your branch library for recommendations but no one there reads the same books as you or you’ve already read everything they find. What’s a reader to do?

Luckily, the library has developed an online service to help you with just this dilemma. The service is called “Need a Read?” and you simply fill out an online form with information about great books you’ve recently read, why you enjoyed those books, favorite authors and genres, etc. The more complete the form, the better the results! After you submit the form, a librarian evaluates your reading interests, sends your request to the staff member best able to fulfill your need to read, and, in about a week, you receive your custom recommendations in your email. It’s as easy as that! Make sure to check “Need a Read?” out!

(If anyone is interested in reading an amazing alternate history, weird western with dragons, I recommend Patricia Wrede’s Frontier Magic series starting with The Thirteenth Child.)
