May the Odds Be Ever in Your Favor

Katniss & Ceasar Flickerman

This morning marked the premiere of the Official Hunger Games movie trailer.  Fans have been eagerly anticipating this first glimpse of District 12 and its inhabitants ever since Lionsgate first optioned the film rights.  Last spring when the cast was announced there were many nay sayers out there, commenting on wrong hair color, too old actors, and no one looking how they pictured them.  Hopefully this trailer has put to rest any doubts fans may have, at least in regards to hair color (except for in Haymitch’s case, that one’s a bit concerning).  Personally I’m even more excited about the film and can’t wait until March 23rd.  Check out the trailer, give the books another read while you’re waiting for the movie, or check out some of these dystopian novels in a similar vein as the Hunger Games.

This is the most excited about a movie based on a book since at least Harry Potter!  I'm not as worried about the way the actors look as a lot of people, I'm just hoping that they get the feel of the characters right!

It actually looks like it could be really good! I think it's really cool they decided to release it on my birthday. :)

I love that they didn't give too much away in the trailers.  Even though I've read the books, it'll still be nice to have some visual surprises when I see the movie.  Also Effie is exceedingly creepy looking and I love it.
