Little Brick Building achieves WORLD’s highest LEED Rating

Come join us for another free GR Reads program at the little brick building on the city’s northwest side of town that has achieved the WORLD’S highest LEED rating.  We are going to be taking a behind-the-scenes tour of this wonderful building, at 502 Second St NW, on Tuesday, August 6, at 7 pm.  If you’re interested in learning about being “green”, come join us.

The owners of Catalyst Partners and M Retail Solutions bought the old Watkins Higgins Milling Company and transformed it into a building that is now a catalyst for sustainable and restorative development in Grand Rapids.  The building features a state-of-the-art geothermal heating and cooling system, uses solar panels on the roof, used repurposed materials, has a rain garden and is 60% less expensive to operate than a traditional office space.
