Lights! Camera! ACTION: Teen Film Festival!


GRPL’s Teen Department is proud to announce our first ever Teen Film Festival! We are collaborating with the Kent District Library to bring you fun films created for teens by teens. The Teen Film Festival is Saturday, February 2, 2013 from 10:30-1:30. The location will be Celebration! Cinema North (2121 Celebration Dr. NE).  Here are a few important events coming up right before festival time.

Any teens wanting to help promote their movie or friend’s submissions is welcome to attend the film festival’s teen jury panel. On Saturday, January 19 at 10 a.m. until all films have been viewed. This will be held at the Wyoming Branch of Kent District Library will screen the films and rate them with input from teens.  All screenings can be viewed by teens and there will be snacks! You will not want to miss this!

Have questions about next year’s festival? Want to know more about how to make your own movie? Need ideas to make your movie stand out?! Stop by GRPL’s Youth Services Department and see the librarian Jessica Liddell. She will be happy to take you through the process of how many teens wrote, filmed, edited, and added music to their film! If you can’t wait that long than KDL is holding iMovie Classes  to help design and edit films. You could easily use this to go viral on Youtube!

One last note: If there is any interest in film animation please don’t hesitate to stop by the Youth Services Department at GRPL and see the librarian Jessica Liddell!  She is interested in your feedback of wanting to film an animated movie!
