Laugh at the Library!

LaughFest returns in a few days to make Grand Rapids’ smile a bit brighter! The library is working with LaughFest for a few funny events of our own.

Teens: Come be a part of the show and perform at our Teen Improv Night on March 8 at 7:00 pm. Laugh at everyone else’s ridiculous antics and throw out suggestions. Host Tim Cusack will make sure everyone is rolling in the aisles. Come up on stage and be the center of attention!

Adults: Be sure to sign up for the Humorous Speech Contest on March 13 at 7:00 pm! You must register in advance to be an on-stage participant. For more details about the competition, see this blog post. To register, go here.

LaughFest is a way to bring people together through humor while raising funds for a great cause. Gilda’s Club was founded after Saturday Night Live comedienne Gilda Radner lost her battle with ovarian cancer. Her husband, Gene Wilder, saw the support she had received from groups near her and wanted it to be widely available for others suffering from cancer. To learn more about Gilda, check out this book list.

Be sure to see what else is going on around town during LaughFest. Go to their site for schedules, tickets and merchandise. Read/watch/listen to more of your favorite LaughFest comedians here.
