The Mayor and the Grand Rapids Public Library have picked out 12 great books. You can read right along with the Mayor. Come back every month to see what book the Mayor is reading. Print out a booklet to track your progress. Download your very own Mayor's Book Club poster.
This month's book
The book for November is First Snow in the Woods by Carl R. Sams II and Jean Stoick. Are the animals of the forest ready for the first snow? Winter is coming early to their woods and they better get ready! Beautiful photographs of birds, deer, squirrels, woodchuck and more.
Teachers, join the club!
Every K-3 classroom within the city of Grand Rapids will receive their very own Mayor's Book Club poster. Every K-3 student will also receive a bookmark. If you are interested in having the Mayor read in your classroom, please contact our children's librarian. Because the Mayor only visits one school per month on a pre-determined schedule, openings are limited. We are trying to visit each elementary school once before we visit again.
