The Internet Station Manager (ISM) was developed by the
Grand Rapids Public Library (Grand Rapids, MI) as a means
of controlling users' time on public Internet stations while reducing staff
intervention. It utilizes a variety of open source software (a.k.a. FREE [as in "free beer"]) to allow
users to log themselves into and use limited library resources.
