A passion for the Library

The Friends of the Library is a group of dedicated volunteers who recognize the vital importance of libraries in our community. Their efforts support the Library and its programs - both financially and with time spent volunteering.

Community Supporters

Each of our eight locations has its own Friends group supporting them. The Friends organize and run used book sales at each location and use the proceeds to meet needs that might not be covered in the budget.

Membership Perks

For a minimum donation of $5.00 per year, you can be a member of Friends of the Grand Rapids Public Library. All members receive a quarterly newsletter, advance notice of special sales and events and an invitation to our annual open house.
