Fix-it School Classes

Been thinking about doing some repairs around the house while you’re on vacation this summer?  If you’re like me — not too confident in my fix-it skills — help is available through the Fix-it School Classes offered by Home Repair Services.  There’s still time this summer to brush up on skills such as basic and advanced plumbing, drywall repair, basic and advanced electrical, saving energy, and more.

There are also some helpful money matters classes, taught in both English and Spanish, focusing on credit repair, money management, insurance, to name a few.  All classes are free and open to the public.

Home Repair Services offers other services and programs, such as the Tool Lending Library and the Builders’ Abundance Store, that do have eligibility requirements.   Call 241-2601 for more information.

Thanks for your comment Brian. Home Repair Services is a wonderful community resource that many people may not know about. They even provide information about foreclosures, http://www.homerepairservices.org/foreclosure.php
with a foreclosure intervention program to help people keep the homes they've worked so hard for.

The eligibility requirements are a real bummer. I'd pay 100+ dollars a year to use all of their services and attend their classes.
