The Pere Marquette Steam Locomotive was built in 1941 and boasts a long and interesting career hauling tens of thousands of riders. For many years the 1225, and all the Pere Marquette steam locomotives, were maintained in Grand Rapids at the sprawling railroad shop complex in Wyoming. Most recently, it had a starring role in the 2004 movie, The Polar Express.
