Exploring Social Media and Email

The Internet and social media have made it easier than ever to keep in touch with friends and family. Beginning with a brief introduction to email, this class will teach you how to communicate with others online and offer tips on how to be safe while doing so. You will learn the basics about Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Find out what you need to get started with Skype, Google Hangouts and other video calling services.

Teens and tweens in grades 6-12 can stop by the Main Library on the third Thursday of each month to create awesome robots and try out tech trends! Knowledgey Thursdays explore the world of robotics using Lego Mindstorms Education EV3 base set and software. Bring a friend, grab a kit, and build an army of robots. Want to get even more creative? Explore STEAM with different experiments and activities each month! Ride to Read passes are available to participants.

The Extra Texture hails from Grand Rapids and blends modern rock with 1960's pop sensibilities. Comparisons have been made to Lou Reed and Pavement.
