One Book, One City for Kids

One Book, One City for Kids is an annual reading program that encourages all 5th graders in the city to read and discuss the same book. The program also strives to encourage a lifelong love of reading among students, to inspire readers to bring story ideas and themes to life through discussion, and to build collaborative ties between public libraries, school libraries, and area schools. This year the entire city will be reading One Crazy Summer by Rita Williams-Garcia.

ACTion Drummers: Performance and Hands-on Drumming Experience

The ACTion Drummers, directed by percussionist and world music instructor Joshua Dunigan, are part of the Artists Creating Together organization, which empowers people with disabilities. Families are invited to come hear the drummers and get a chance to do their own playing! All ages welcome.

Books in Bloom: A Spring Break Activity for Kids

Families can stop by any GRPL location for a cool drop-in art activity. Budding designers will experiment with making patterns using paint bottles (fun for grown-ups too!). While you are at the library, get fun suggestions for spring-themed books to read during the week.
