Grand Rapids Public Library and the Library of Michigan have joined together to celebrate Michigan Notable Book authors from West Michigan. This special evening celebrates nine Michigan Notable authors and features a keynote presentation by Wade Rouse. Space is limited and registration is required. For ages 21 and over. Manierre Dawson, a native of Chicago, lived in Mason County as a fruit farmer for 55 years. Dawson was a pioneer of abstract art: the first artist in America to move away from representational painting that sought to copy nature and towards complete non-representational abstractions.
