Join literary and public historian Veta Tucker Smith as she discusses her recently published work, A Fluid Frontier: Slavery, Resistance, and the Underground Railroad in the Detroit River Borderland. A long-time West Michigan educator and founder of the Kutsche Office of Local History at Grand Valley State University, Tucker will discuss the role of the Detroit River corridor in the underground railroad movement, as fugitive slaves fled the United States for Canada.
