Take Your Child to the Library Day

The greatest gift a parent or caregiver can give a child is to share the wonders and possibilities that come with a visit to the library. Bring your child to the library, help them select a book, audiobook, movie, or music that opens their minds and experiences. Sign up for a library card and make a bookmark to remember your visit. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was an advocate for peace and harmony between all people. On October 14, 1964, he received the Nobel Peace Prize for combating racial inequality through nonviolence. To celebrate his birthday, families are invited to a special storytime that celebrates his legacy. Throughout the day, families can create an origami paper crane or decorate a paper dove to celebrate peace.
