Don’t Miss “Thin Ice” program on August 17th

Thin Ice: Coming of Age in Grand Rapids, Michigan is one of the GR Reads selections. Don’t miss the program on August 17th at 7:00pm in the auditorium at the Main Library. Several local writers will read from their piece in the collection: John Otterbacher, Glen Peterson, Robert Vander Molen, Hank Meijer, Charles Honey, Tom Rademacher, Levi Rickert and Kay Longberg.  Editors Gordon Olson and Reinder Van Til will also read and our very own Asante Cain will read a selection from Roger Wilkins’ essay. The book is filled with pieces that are warm and intimate – often humorous, and sometimes satirical. They are vividly recollected portraits of sections of the city where these authors grew up, came of age, and grew into adulthood.
