Order Photos from the Grand Rapids Public Library

All orders are processed by the Grand Rapids History and Special Collections of the Grand Rapids Public Library. Please contact the Department at 616-988-5400 for more information.

Images are available as electronic image files (TIFF or JPEG on CDROM), as scanned Photo-quality prints, or as traditional photographs from negatives.

The fee schedule for obtaining electronic images or prints of Grand Rapids Public Library photos is as follows:

--TIFF/JPEG on CDROM per image $16.50 plus $2.50 for mailing

--Scanned Print (8x10) per image $17.50 plus $2.50 for mailing

--Traditional Photo (8x10) per image $23.50 plus $2.50 for mailing

CDROM's or print orders may be mailed (mailing charge) or picked up (no mailing charge). Sales Tax is included in the price.

Notice Concerning Copyright Restrictions

The Copyright Law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photographs and other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish reproductions. One of the specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be used “for any purpose other than private study, scholarship or research.” If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a reproduction for purposes in excess of “fair use,” that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copyright order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violations of copyright law.

When photographic images, including video, from the Grand Rapids History and Special Collections appear, the Department requests the courtesy of a credit line as follows:
