Do you loooove your library? Is finding a great book a passion of yours? Do you like to share?
Then Celebration of the Book, this Saturday–October 17–is the place for you. This book festival has it all – author events, book signings, book talks, poetry slams, family programs. Meet book vendors, publishers, book lovers and your friendly neighborhood librarians.
I’m excited to see Dave Cullen, author of Columbine; Gillian Flynn, former Entertainment Weekly columnist turned thriller writer; the Raising a Diverse Reader panel; and cookbook author Kathleen Hanna. There are so many great programs to choose from, it’s going to be a tough. Oh and I forgot how much I was spooked by Mardi Link’s When Evil Came to Good Hart, so I’d better check out her True Crime in Michigan panel too.
Celebration of the Book is designed to create a community of people who love to read and who love their library. I like to read books with either murder or kissing in them, so that’s what I’m gravitating towards at Celebration. But there are programs and talks to suit every reading taste.
Come celebrate great books with us. Woo-hoo, it’s a celebration!
