And Dad and Brother and Sister and anyone else that wants too. The Hispanic Heritage Committee is once again putting on our very successful Loteria Program! The date for this evening of games, music, prizes, food and all around fun is May 10th at 6:30 pm in the Ryerson Auditorium of the Main Library.
We’ll begin the evening with local band Cabildo playing for us. After they have warmed us up we will begin Loteria. This Mexican game of chance is similar to bingo but uses pictures instead of numbers. For each round the winner will receive a very cool, and spring-themed, prize. There will be light refreshments served to help keep your energy up. While all this is going on we will also be registering Grand Rapids residents for library cards! Just bring your driver’s license or state ID with you. If you are younger than 18 you’ll also want to bring a parent or guardian with you to help sign-up.
In addition to the regular prizes, and in honor of Mother’s Day, all moms attending the program will receive a special gift just for attending!
See you there and remember, for those attending the event parking is free in the library parking lot.
This program is funded with a grant through the Grand Rapids Public Library Foundation.
