Negative feelings are like stray cats
“I heard a wise saying once that has helped me: ‘Negative feelings are like stray cats. The more you feed them, the more they hang around.’” – Joyce Rupp, in The Star in My Heart
I am a true fan of cats. Whenever I find a stray one, I take it in, feed it and give it a good home. Yes, I currently have lots of cats. But I am NOT a fan of negative feelings. How about you? Are you such a fan of negative feelings that you’ve been holding on to them and feeding them? Change everything. Love and Forgive.
The Campaign for Love and Forgiveness is a community engagement initiative that encourages people to bring love and forgiveness into the heart of individual and community life. In conjunction with WGVU and The Fetzer Institute, the Library is hosting a series of conversations for teens to find ways to bring forgiveness into daily life. Beginning on February 2, 2010, the series continues for four consecutive Tuesday evenings from 6:30pm – 8:30pm at the Main Library. Facilitated by a mental health professional, this series is open to teens in grades 9 – 12.
Registration is required. This series is limited to 20 participants and is free and open to the public.
