Teen songwriting workshops

Today was your first chance to attend a songwriting workshop here at the library. Don’t worry, though! You have two more chances on Wednesday. The Yankee Clipper branch is hosting on at 3pm and the Main Library is hosting one at 6pm. Bring your poems or songs in to be critiqued and to share with others or, if you are a beginner, bring your love of music. These workshops are open to teens ages 11 – 18.
Having American Idol withdrawal? After attending the workshop, sign up to perform (or have someone perform for you!) an original song that you have written at our GRPL Idol. This night of music will be on Thursday, August 13 at 7pm in the Ryerson Auditorium. Listeners are also invited to attend to hear some great local artists. The winner of the contest will receive 4 hours of studio time to record their songs at Mackinaw Harvest Music Group.
