Buster the Bus came to Main Library and Seymour Branch last Saturday. The Mayor’s Book Club for Kids was officially launched on Wednesday at the Main Library!
We heard stories from not one, but two, honored guests: Representative Vern Ehlers (who sported cat-in-the-hat style headgear!) and Mayor George Heartwell.
We also ate cake, drank lemonade, and made our very own READ posters to take home.

The Summer Reading Program is in full swing. Last week, kids turned out to express themselves for Drumminity. Kids banged on bongos and tapped on drums making some pretty interesting sounds all week long.

This Saturday 50 kids will pedal away from the Seymour Branch with the summer safety essential: bike helmets. In partnership with the Grand Rapids Griffins’ “Put a Lid on It!” program, Safe Kids Greater Grand Rapids will distribute the free bike helmets to kids ages 1–12 from 1:00–3:00 pm or while supplies last.
