They came in black dresses, they came with their books to be signed, they came with their boyfriends in tow, they just kept coming until the auditorium was filled to capacity, and we were scrounging for every available chair in the building.
Official count was 162 fans, mostly women, intent on hearing every word. Rhoda Janzen did not disappoint. She read a hilarious but poignant section of her book and answered questions with honesty and humor, before signing a long line of books.
