Best Tech of 2012: Apps, E-books, & Games


Here is part two of our Best of 2012 list! Recent trends in technology are constantly changing! We’ll highlight some apps that have gotten a lot of buzz during last year.  We tried to keep this list as general as possible since most platforms should carry these.

Best Apps of 2012:

You have Angry Bird Star Wars, which is a fun game of flying birds with jedi powers. The famed “evil pigs” are comprised of the crew of Darth Vader and his Stormtroopers! More serious? Interested in Journalism? BBC News is one of the best clean interfaces in bringing you news. You can customize the features to find articles that interest you. Need a time-waster? CastleVille is here to help you out! This app lets you assume the role of a knight as you farm, battle, and build! Play Facebook’s FronterVille? Than here’s the sequel! Pionerville lets you build a home, raise a family, and journey across the West! Tired of Words with Friends? Look no further! Scramble with Friends is the latest word game craze…that you can defend as a “hands on learning activity.” Like something more goofy? Tired of using your hair to make a fake mustache? Try Stachetastic! This lets you put all types of facial hair on your mom, dog, and friends photos!

The top 5 E-books of 2012:

Fancy a bit of weird creepy photos? The author found a bunch of weird photos from a flea market and decided to write a book about it. The amazing thing is when these photos were shot no type of “editing” software was available. Check out Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs.  Want more of the Hunger Games of Insurgent?
