Ever think back to your childhood and remember what you wanted to do when you grew up? This debut novel by Lori Nelson Spielman touches on this very idea. This book selection for this summer’s GR Reads, tells the story of Brett Bohlinger who embarks on a year-long journey of self-discovery after the death of her mother. She discovers that her mother wants her to complete some items on the “life List” of goals Brett made for herself when she was 14, before she can receive her inheritance. The book delves into how Brett takes on this challenge, trying to complete her life list; definitely showing us a wonderful story of a mother/daughter relationship.
